TRANQUILO

The band’s debut album is an elegant and joyful introduction to their musical world, featuring original compositions by co-founders Anje West and Kym Ambrose, all of which were composed in Rio de Janeiro during their first study-trip to Brazil in 2004. Bossa nova, samba-jazz and interpretations from favourite Brazilian composers all feature on this accomplished, and critically acclaimed first release.

Reviews:

“Tranquilo is an album that is unforced, uncluttered, and as natural as can be”.
Noel Mengel, Head Music Writer, The Courier Mail (Qld)

“The album’s hallmarks are its delicate and uncluttered song arrangements, West’s sweetly plangent voice and Ambrose’s skilled vibraphone playing. It’s not often vibes features in Brazilian music, and here their melodic infusion is truly gorgeous”
Jane Costessi, ABC radio (national)
