The TransparentSea Voyage, like the marine mammals that swim the sea and communicate through sound and song, takes the viewer on a sensory journey. This documentary captures the creation of 23 songs in 23 days, all while exploring—by sea and land—one of the world’s most populated coastlines: Southern California.

The Transparentsea Voyage highlights the efforts of a group of athletes, musicians, celebrities, and artists on a campaign to raise awareness around coastal environmental issues. Witness the journey unfold through the lens of song creation in this “behind the music” look at focused activism. The project revealed how a deep connection to the planet transformed and educated both the participants and those who followed the voyage from around the globe.

Experience the adventure from beginning to end as the crew follows the southern migration of the California Grey and Blue Whales, paddling from Santa Barbara to the U.S. border in six tandem kayaks. What began as an effort to engage key coastal communities evolved into a profound journey of self-discovery for everyone involved.
