CASA DA BOA VIDA
Anje and Kym’s second three-month stint in Rio de Janeiro in 2008, where they were joined for a month by their bassist OJ Newcomb and then-drummer Mark Henman, generated a wealth of new material, most of it appearing on this album. Working for the second time with Paulie B as engineer, the band steps up with an album of predominantly original material that features the Queensland Music Award-winning song ‘Bom Fazer’. The songs again range from gentle bossa novas through to instrumental Brazilian jazz and groove sounds.

Originally released in 2009, this is the second album from one of Australia’s most acclaimed and long-lived Brazilian music ensembles. Featuring nine original tracks along with a couple of Brazilian favourites, it’s a lush, sophisticated recording that includes some beautiful instrumentals, songs in Portuguese and English, and the party-starter, “Bom Fazer”, winner of the Best World Music Song at the Queensland Music Awards 2009, and Praia, nominated in the Jazz category.
