O.A (born Oanell Tutard in Brittany,France) is a boundary-pushing artist forging a hypnotic blend of psychedelic trip-hop and grunge-driven rock. Influenced by the sonic legacy of bands like Air, Portishead, Radiohead, Incubus, Deftones, as well as Fuzz or Veruca Salt, her sound bridges atmospheric electronic production with the raw intensity of live instrumentation—dark, immersive, and emotionally charged.
A lifelong musician, O.A began playing accordion at eight and guitar at twelve, singing since she could speak, quickly evolving into a performer and songwriter. By fourteen, she fronted her first band, One L to Hell, before launching her solo project as Oanell Fey at eighteen in Paris in collaboration with Patrick Folie from Dandelions Passion Prod. Her early career saw her recording her first EP “P’tit Clou” in Paris and sharing stages with artists like Ayo and Merzhin.
Her artistic path spans multiple genres and projects—from the 70’s psychedelic stoner rock of The Royal Crows to the folk-driven sounds of Wind Folks—reflecting a constant search for her musical identity. In 2023, after years of performing across France, O.A relocated to Australia, where travel and isolation fueled a new phase of writing and experimentation.
This evolution led to Rev, an acoustic EP recorded and produced with Tone Broker, which caught the attention of the Yama Nui Studio. There, OA collaborated with producer Paul Bromley to shape Elation, Vol. I—a debut release that crystallizes her artistic vision.
Paulie Bromley is well known for his organic & seamless style as a producer, mixer & musician. He has been producing since 2002 with 200+ releases. For 15 years he owned & operated Brisbane’s home of Soul, Reggae & World music ‘The Tanuki Lounge’. In 2018 he launched Yama-Nui – a brand new world class recording studio on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. He has made recordings for some of Australia’s most loved artists including Jordan Rakai, Ben Ely, Mat McHugh, Karl S. Williams, Kurilpa Reach, Hat Fitz & Cara, Tommy Sexton, Andrea Kirwin, Ash Grunwald, Jamie Allensworth, Tim Friedman, The Strides, Cheap Fakes, Pete Cullen, The Vampires, Pat Tierney, Kingfisha, Kooii & Darren Percival to name a few.
Set for release on May 8, Elation, Vol. I marks a turning point: a bold, genre-defying statement where trip-hop textures and heavy rock energy collide. It’s the sound O.A has been building toward for years—an uncompromising fusion of electronic depth and organic power.
With this first volume, O.A steps forward as a fully realized artist, delivering a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-looking—rooted in the spirit of the 90s, yet unmistakably modern.
