Singer song writer and guitarist Mark Moroney radiates emotion, authenticity and soul. His style and sound are distilled from a musical melting pot of folk, blues, roots, soul, jazz and pop.
He released his solo album ‘Walking Through Walls’, in 2013 which reflected a decade of touring, playing clubs and music festivals, and remains a resounding culmination of his dynamic guitar style, lush vocals and fine composing skills. Al Hensley from Rhythms magazine describes the album as “Exquisite – a real work of art”
Mark is a graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and is a previous finalist in the Queensland Music Awards and Music Oz awards for his original works.
He has collectively shared the stage with and supported artists such as Katie Noonan, Darren Percival, James Reyne, Renee Geyer Jeff Lang, Abby Dobson, Chris Smither, Steve Poltz and The Black Sorrows.
Festival appearances include: Woodford Folk Festival, The Mosaic Music Festival (Singapore), Caloundra Music Festival, Big Pineapple Music Festival, Stone Music Festival (Sydney), Bay Of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival (NZ), Blues On Broadbeach, Noosa Jazz Festival.
Mark lives on The Sunshine Coast where his love for surfing and songwriting balance his busy schedule. His latest offerings “This Dream” (single) and “Chasing Fairytales” (EP) is his finest work so far. With new works set to be released in 2024 and the exciting new partnership with Yama-Nui Records the future looks bright for the music and his message.
